Σκοπος του Κεντρου

Η επιστημονική μελέτη, η έρευνα και η δημόσια προβολή θεμάτων εγκληματολογίας. Η επεξεργασία προτάσεων και η διατύπωση απόψεων για θέματα που σχετίζονται με την εγκληματολογία και την αντεγκληματική πολιτική.  Η παροχή επιστημονικής συνδρομής προς πολιτικούς, κοινωνικούς, πολιτιστικούς και επιστημονικούς φορείς της χώρας σε θέματα που ανάγονται στην εγκληματολογία. Η ενημέρωση και η ευαισθητοποίηση των πολιτών γύρω από ζητήματα εγκληματολογικού ενδιαφέροντος.

Για την πραγματοποίηση του σκοπού το ΚΕ.Μ.Ε. Booksδιοργανώνει εκδηλώσεις όπως συνέδρια, ημερίδες, διαλέξεις, σεμινάρια, δημόσιες συζητήσεις κ.λπ. Προγραμματίζει, καταρτίζει και δημοσιεύει μελέτες ή δημοσιεύει με οποιοδήποτε πρόσφορο τρόπο τα πορίσματα των συνεδρίων, συζητήσεων και ερευνητικών μελετών του. Εκφράζει δημόσια τις θέσεις του για επίκαιρα ζητήματα που άπτονται του εγκληματικού φαινομένου. Συστήνει ειδικές ομάδες εργασίας, αποτελούμενες από μέλη της ή εξωτερικούς συνεργάτες. Διοργανώνει ή συμμετέχει σε εθνικά ή διεθνή συνέδρια, επικοινωνώντας ή συνεργαζόμενο με σωματεία ή Ενώσεις που επιδιώκουν τους αυτούς ή παρεμφερείς σκοπούς. Ενθαρρύνει και προωθεί τη συνεργασία στο πλαίσιο διεπιστημονικών προσεγγίσεων με άλλους φορείς, ή Κέντρα ή Ενώσεις.
